Overview
Captanomy’s core mission is to help companies meet sustainability objectives by accurately measuring and reducing their carbon emissions. However, the previous platform’s interface made it challenging for users to quickly access key data, generate meaningful reports, and navigate financial application processes. This redesign aimed to improve usability, visual hierarchy, and overall consistency, making it simpler for users to monitor emissions, create reports, and apply for financing solutions.

Where It All Begins
The founders approached me not simply to add a new feature, but to address critical usability issues plaguing the existing screens. Many first-time users felt overwhelmed by the cluttered interface, resulting in an abandonment rate of around 40% during essential tasks like report generation. We decided to tackle a full product redesign while simultaneously introducing a new feature—ensuring that the entire experience was overhauled, not just incrementally improved.
Our Action Plan
We began by reorganizing the platform’s information hierarchy and refining user flows to make navigation more intuitive. Through multiple rounds of prototyping and quick iterative testing, we pinpointed and resolved key pain points, ensuring our redesign addressed the major usability issues while seamlessly incorporating the new feature. We also updated the visual design with clear charts, simple typography, and ample white space to enhance readability and guide users effortlessly through their tasks.
The Final Outcome
Through this comprehensive redesign, we streamlined the user journey and elevated the overall experience. As a result, task completion times dropped by nearly 30%, and user satisfaction scores rose by 25%. By integrating the new feature within a refined interface, we successfully addressed the existing usability challenges while delivering added value for both new and returning users.
